Purpose
The Inventory Control Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining inventory accuracy and minimizing shrinkage within the distribution center. This position is responsible for conducting cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, reconciling inventory records, and supporting the accurate maintenance of inventory data across warehouse and business systems. This role acts as the critical link between physical inventory findings and system corrections, ensuring inventory accuracy, traceability, documentation integrity, and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies from cycle counts, receiving, production, transfers, shipping, returns, damages, and audits.
- Reconcile physical inventory with WMS and ERP records, including quantities, locations, lots, and serial numbers.
- Prepare or process approved inventory adjustments with complete supporting documentation.
- Review negative balances, open transactions, unit-of-measure issues, and other inventory record errors.
- Maintain investigation logs, exception reports, and accurate audit trails.
- Identify recurring causes of inventory discrepancies and recommend process, system, training, or SOP improvements.
- Participate and Support physical inventories, recalls, audits, and special inventory reviews.
- Provide coverage during the Inventory Control Supervisor’s absence and support inventory control activities across all three Buckhead Meat & Seafood Canada locations, as required.
- Maintain flexibility to work evenings and weekends to support scheduled inventory counts and other operational requirements.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and experience with WMS, ERP, or inventory systems.
- Knowledge of lot-controlled or serialized inventory is preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and follow-up skills.
Education
Post-secondary education in supply chain, operations, finance or a related discipline is an asset; equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience
- 2 – 4 years of experience in inventory control, reconciliation, manufacturing, distribution, or warehousing.
Physical Demands
- Regular combination of desk-based analysis and physical warehouse verification.
- Work may occur in wet, refrigerated or freezer environments and may require bending, reaching, walking and safe equipment access.
- Flexible support may be required during inventories, recalls or critical investigations
