Job Description

This position is primarily responsible for the financial management of inventory, monitoring inventory levels in the management system, standardizing nomenclature and developing appropriate work tools for the proper operation of the sites.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with site managers, buyers, scale clerks, payables, etc. to resolve issues;
  • Coordinate inventory counts & various monthly inventory calculation cycles;
  • Follow up on contracts, commodity prices and accruals to identify and correct possible errors;
  • Handle the management and reconciliation of off-site inventory held by technicians and service partners (consignment, brokerage, port);
  • Validate inventory production and transfers between commodities;
  • Perform on-site checks to ensure system and floor quantities match, identify discrepancies and provide solutions;
  • Develop and compile inventory reports and manage the reconciliation process;
  • Issue cost of goods sold/gross margin report, inter-company transactions;
  • Analyze transactions in transit;
  • Document and formalize procedures. Take charge of various projects related to inventory control.

Qualifications

  • DEC or university degree in accounting, administration, or related field;
  • 2+ years experience within an accounting related function;
  • Knowledge of the Office suite with advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, macros, power query);
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Python and/or SQL (an asset);
  • Knowledge of inventory capture issues and APICS certification (an asset);
  • Strong interest in data analysis and process automation;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Bilingual French and English.
