Position: Inventory Analyst
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Contract term: 2 years – possibility of extension
Introduction
Brunel is seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst to support our oil and gas client in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the CP Planning and Procurement Manager, this key role manages inventory and demand planning processes to strengthen a world-class supply chain that meets business demands. The analyst will set up, maintain, and improve end-to-end inventory management strategies for large-scale operations, industrial projects, shutdowns, and turnarounds, including material storage, preservation, and implementation oversight.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize SAP MM (Materials Management) Plan
- Perform strategic and transactional inventory management to optimize across operations
- Develop and improve inventory work processes focusing on continuous improvement
- Establish and monitor inventory KPIs and performance targets
- Assist in onboarding for asset purchases with best practices across warehouses, countries, and business units
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives at the local/site level
- Coordinate between Material Management and Plant Maintenance to ensure accurate BoMs
- Ensure material visibility and assurance during planning and work order execution
- Support SAP Materials Management Module configuration for optimal performance
- Provide support for operational spare parts and BOM build
- Review spare parts and BOMs to determine optimal sparing levels, considering maintenance input
- Maintain quality and accuracy of the plant's material master data
- Collaborate with Discipline Engineers to develop obsolescence plans
- Prepare and seek approval for annual inventory review plans
- Identify surplus inventory and implement measures to prevent excess stock buildup
- Implement and maintain inventory process improvements and disposal policies
- Create and maintain inventory performance dashboards
- Manage Material Master data according to client coding standards
- Support procurement planning for new assets from an MM perspective
- Review spare parts and BOM proposals to ensure proper system setup and stock decisions
- Perform mass data uploads into SAP as needed
- Collaborate with contract and procurement teams to embed MM excellence in contracts
- Provide advisory support to identify value leakage and improvement areas in MM
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in oil and gas, with strong technical and materials management skills
