Base pay range

CA$38.56/hr - CA$45.24/hr

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for administering, configuring, and enhancing the organization’s intranet, including its SharePoint environment. This includes administering site architecture, content strategy, user collaboration, system performance, and integrations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, configure, and administer intranet sites, libraries, lists, and workflows using SharePoint.
  • Manage user permissions to ensure appropriate access and data security.
  • Process key forms electronically, store internal information securely, and facilitate user collaboration.
  • Develop and implement content strategies aimed at enhancing user engagement and improving the overall intranet user experience.
  • Create, update, and maintain content on the intranet, ensuring all materials are accurate, relevant, and engaging.
  • Apply industry best practices and reference existing marketing documents for intranet content and structure.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather content requirements and ensure that the intranet aligns with the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing user support and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct training sessions to help staff effectively utilize SharePoint tools and features.
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures to safeguard SharePoint data.
  • Monitor the performance of SharePoint environments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Apply updates, patches, and perform routine maintenance to ensure the SharePoint platform remains secure, stable, and up-to-date.
  • Integrate SharePoint with other systems and applications to streamline operations and enhance functionality.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in SharePoint administration, including site creation, configuration, and management plus 2 years of experience in content management, preferably within an intranet environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator.
  • OR an equivalent combination of training and/or experience may be substituted for the required qualifications.

  • Expert Proficiency in SharePoint technology.
  • A strong understanding of intranet best practices.
  • Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent and proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across departments with staff, faculty and students.
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills and the ability to handle situations with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at any given time.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Sound judgement and superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range - Prorated based on FTE: Paygrade 28* (under review) – $38.56 – $45.24 hourly ($2699.20 – $3166.80 bi-weekly).
