Job summary

PwC Canada seeks an International Tax Services Senior Associate to advise multinational clients on structuring global tax positions and complying with foreign tax laws. You will analyze international tax regulations and develop strategies to optimise tax efficiency and minimise risk.

You will work with a team to prepare Pillar Two minimum tax calculations, foreign reporting, and cross-border restructuring support, while upholding ethics and delivering high-value client service.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of Canadian tax experience with at least 1 year in international corporate tax.
  • CPA, LLB or equivalent designation considered an asset.
  • Enrollment in CICA In-depth Tax program considered an asset.
  • Strong technical background and broad-based tax skills.
  • Excellent analytical capability with attention to detail and business sense.
  • Ability to identify tax consulting opportunities and market services.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of surplus computations, foreign accrual property income and T1134 reporting.
  • Preparation and review of Pillar Two Global Minimum Tax compliance including GloBE calculations.
  • Engage with affiliated PwC firms in foreign jurisdictions for clients.

Job description

These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions. Those in international tax at PwC will provide advice and guidance to clients on structuring their global tax positions. Your work will involve analysing international tax laws and regulations to develop strategies that optimise tax efficiency and minimise risks for multinational businesses.

The opportunity

As an International Tax Services Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high-quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and review of surplus computations, foreign accrual property income and excluded property computations, and T1134 information reporting for taxpayers with foreign affiliate groups.
  • Preparation and review of Pillar Two Global Minimum Tax compliance including GloBE calculations, Globe Information Returns and GIR Notifications.
  • Engage with affiliated PwC firms in foreign jurisdictions to help clients navigate foreign tax laws.
  • Assist with cross border restructuring transactions for multinational groups headquartered in Canada and Canadian groups of foreign multinational groups.
  • Support clients as they navigate new Canadian tax legislation, such as anti-hybrid mismatch rules, and assist with associated computations.
  • Contribute to an environment where people and technology thrive together to accomplish more than they could apart.
  • Know how and when to use tools available for a given situation and can explain the reasons for this choice.

What You’ll Bring
  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives.
  • 2 – 3 years of Canadian tax experience with minimum of 1 year in international corporate tax.
  • CPA, LLB or equivalent designation considered an asset.
  • Enrollment in CICA In-depth Tax program considered an asset.
  • Strong technical background and broad-based tax skills.
  • Strong analytical capability, attention to detail, sound business sense and creative mind that have earned you the reputation of providing excellence in client service focused on helping clients solve their issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify tax consulting opportunities and a willingness to effectively market services to existing and prospective clients.

The salary range for this position is $60,400 - $100,500. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
