Position Overview
The International Medical Assistant (IMA) role is designed for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) or Internationally Trained Physicians who are actively pursuing medical licensure in North America. This position is ideal for individuals seeking hands‑on experience and a deeper understanding of the Canadian healthcare system.
IMAs work under the direct supervision of a physician, functioning as a clinical technician and assistant, and serving as the physician’s “eyes and ears” in the examination room.
Compensation & Career Development
Hourly Wage: $18.10 per hour, with additional performance-based bonuses tied to individual services.
Training Requirements: Successful completion of all required training milestones, exams, and certifications within the first three (3) weeks of employment.
Performance Review: Following a three (3)-month probationary period, IMAs are eligible for a formal performance review.
