Job summary

Ottawa Catholic School Board seeks an International & Indigenous Languages (Elementary) Site Administrator at Holy Trinity High School, Kanata. You will supervise on-site and virtual IL classes, serving as first point of contact for safety and program operations.

Under the IL Coordinator, you will handle registration, curriculum development, and staff mentoring, align with policies, and liaise with parents and schools.

Qualifications

• Qualification in second language acquisition or related experience.
• Excellent English communication; additional language is an asset.
• Strong supervisory and independent work capabilities.
• Experience with IL programs (in person or online) is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office / Google Suite.
• First Aid training completed or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site IL Elementary site during specified hours.
• Supervise IL classes in person and/or virtual.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to staff and students.
• Assist with registration, curriculum development, and program planning.
• Manage administration, finances, and evaluation of staff and program.

Under the supervision of the International Languages (Elementary) Co-ordinator, the incumbent will:

• be the OCSB administrative supervisor for a school site during the hours of work and will be the first point of contact for any safe school issues from other programs or groups using the site on Saturdays;
• be responsible for on-site supervision of the International Languages (Elementary) in person and/or virtual classes;
• provide on-site/virtual leadership and mentoring of staff and student;
• help with the registration process; curriculum development, personnel and financial administration; program planning; evaluation of program and teaching team;
• implement policies and procedures according to the International Languages manual and other OCSB policies;
• act as a liaison between the Saturday program and the K-12 schools;
• act as a liaison between parents and community representatives of the International Languages (Elementary) program, and the Board;
• perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Qualification and experience in second language acquisition;
• Ability to work independently and to provide supervisory expertise;
• Experience in administration and/or teaching in the International Languages Program in-person or online, preferred;
• Knowledge of the guidelines and operations of the International Languages (Elementary) Program;
• Registration with the Ontario College of Teachers, a Certificate of Qualification or an Interim Certificate of Qualification and qualifications in the Primary, Junior or Intermediate Division or equivalent would be an asset;
• Advanced English communication skills plus proficiency in an international language would also be an asset;
• Excellent technical skills in MS Office and/or Google Suite
• Evidence of completion of First Aid Training or willingness to complete this training at own expense.

Location:

• Holy Trinity High School, 180 Katimavik Road, Kanata
• Casual IL Site Administrators - various locations (on call or for temporary replacements)

Compensation: $36.21 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
