Job summary

Nesto Group in Vancouver, Canada is seeking an Analyst to learn credit and underwriting from the ground up, supporting annual reviews and post-funding credit activity. You will work with a collaborative team to monitor loan covenants and financial reporting while applying new tools, including AI, to improve underwriting efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in finance, real estate, business administration, or related field.
  • One year of experience in commercial real estate, mortgage underwriting, or mortgage funding.
  • Proactive, self-driven with accountability for managing projects from inception to completion.
  • Team player who shares knowledge and brainstorms with stakeholders, but can own commitments and deliver results independently.
  • Natural inclination to identify inconsistencies in complex datasets and investigate the "why" behind the numbers.

Responsibilities

  • Complete annual reviews of CMHC-insured loans and CMBS mandates, ensuring each assessment meets CMHC standards and internal quality expectations.
  • Monitor loan covenants and annual financial reporting, proactively assisting in resolving compliance risks and coordinating critical escalations.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to clarify information, address discrepancies, and support accurate decision-making.
  • Take ownership of assigned loans, develop underwriting expertise, and support adoption of new tools and technologies, including AI.
  • Facilitate the collection, preparation, and reporting of annual financial information to investors in adherence to timelines.
  • Conduct ad-hoc reporting and handle special projects related to loan compliance and ongoing servicing obligations.
