Role and Facility Information

Come work as an Internal Medicine Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

The beautiful lower Sunshine Coast is looking for a fourth general internist. The Sunshine Coast is made up of seaside towns and is a rural area located a short 45-minute ferry ride from West Vancouver. There is easy access to extensive outdoor activities ranging from hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and cross-country skiing. Sechelt Hospital is a modern facility with an updated ambulatory care unit and a four-bed critical care unit. The three residing internists provide inpatient and outpatient consultations, exercise stress testing, spirometry, and ECG reporting and hold teaching appointments through UBC. Call is presently Level 1 with each internist on call 1:4.

The applicant must have experience working in an acute-care setting, with expertise caring for a diverse patient population in a busy community hospital. The successful applicant will hold high professional standards and competence with strong clinical skills. Quality improvement is a focus, as well as system improvements, infection control, and antibiotic stewardship. Group dynamics are strong and congenial in nature, with a positive work ethic and culture.

While preference will be given to applicants seeking full-time positions, consideration will be given to qualified individuals seeking part-time work.
