Job summary

Health Match BC is seeking a locum General Cardiologist to join the team at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. The role offers a fee-for-service compensation model with strong team support and opportunities to contribute to outpatient and in-patient cardiology services.

The position includes responsibilities across inpatient admitting, diagnostic testing, and involvement with echo, stress testing, and advanced imaging.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient admitting and consultative service for cardiology patients at Royal Inland Hospital.
• Perform diagnostic tests and monitoring such as Holter monitoring, ECGs and loop recording.
• Contribute to heart function clinic, exercise stress testing, and Nuclear Medicine support.
• Support cardiac CT and MRI interpretation and collaborate with the echo lab (TTE/TEE, dobutamine stress echo).
• Work with the RACE and Pacemaker clinics and participate in evolving outreach to remote communities.

Role and Facility Information

We are seeking locum General Cardiologists to join our team at Royal Inland Hospital. Experience working in a unique niche setting and practice great medicine with lots of support. RIH sees over 1,500 patients in our emergency with cardiac related conditions. Our cardiac rehab clinic and heart function clinic offers hospital based outpatient services with an opportunity to join the cardiology private practice. Physician Services provides a full in-patient admitting and consultative service including Holter monitoring, ECGs and loop recording service, heart function clinic, exercise stress testing, nuclear medicine support, cardiac CT and MRI support. Royal Inland Hospital has a full service echo lab performing TTE, TEE, exercise stress echo and dobutamine stress echo. The RACE and Pacemaker clinics operates in the new state of the art Clinical Services Building at RIH which opened in December 2016. The four bed CCU was opened in 2019. A Tower opened at RIH in the summer of 2022. The tower includes a new operating room and surgical services suite, more beds, respiratory therapy services, mental-health and substance-use inpatient unit, obstetrics services, labour and delivery and a rooftop helipad.
