Health Match BC is seeking a Geriatric Medicine physician to support services in Campbell River on Vancouver Island, in a state-of-the-art North Island Hospital setting.

The Division provides in-patient and out-patient consultations, with interdisciplinary teams and teaching support. Start date is as soon as possible; compensation includes RSA incentives, relocation options, and CME support under a clinical service contract.

Role and Facility Information

The Division of Geriatric Medicine consists of a team of 11 Geriatricians working across Vancouver Island serving a population of 750,000. In Campbell River, the new North Island Hospital is a state of the art facility with an elder-friendly design to meet unique needs of seniors.

The Geriatric service provides clinical support to a robust service including in-patient and out-patient consultation and follow-up. Physicians work with dedicated interdisciplinary teams in most areas, including a geriatric psychiatrist in Campbell River. There are no “on call” duties with attractive remuneration under a clinical service contract. The Division of Geriatrics is affiliated with the University of British Columbia Island Medical Program, and supports clinical teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate learners.

• Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
• Relocation: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
• Flat fee: $9,242.01
• Fee Premium: 6.09%
• CME: $2,200/annum year 3-4 and $4,400/annum after 4 years in the community.

Campbell River has an approximate population of 36,000. Campbell River is a beautiful coastal town in the heart of the North Island. Enjoy exploring trails, whale-watching, seafood.

In addition, Campbell River General services the communities of Alert Bay, Campbell River, Cortes Island, Gold River, Kyuquot, Port Alice, Port Hardy, Port MacNeill, Sointula and Tahsis.
