Job description

Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist

  • Full-time

Build bold. Deliver impact. Win together.

At General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada, we’re not just engineering technology — we’re shaping the future of defence and security. Our teams design and deliver advanced, mission-critical solutions that enhance national security, strengthen communities, and protect the people we serve.

If you’re looking for meaningful work that contributes to a safer, more secure world, you’ll find purpose here. Every day, your skills will directly impact programs that matter.

We are looking for a dynamic communications professional to share the stories that connect our community. A valued member of the international Strategic Communications and Marketing team supporting Canada and the UK, you will oversee internal narratives and execute events to: align employees with organizational goals, enhance collaboration, build engagement, and create a culture of two-way communication.

Responsibilities

You develop and execute internal‑communications campaign plans in collaboration with our graphics specialists, leveraging multiple channels while ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistent messaging that aligns with company goals, culture, and values.

  • You can simplify and elevate the message. You can take complex concepts and narratives and pull out what matters to our colleagues across two continents. You can partner with senior leadership to convey key messages and updates to employees in an engaging and transparent manner. And you can get the tone just right.

  • You love bringing people together. Whether it is virtually, hybrid, or in person, you can organize and execute corporate-wide events, onboarding programs, and ongoing employee‑engagement initiatives ensuring smooth execution. You can also expect to support the team with organizing external events such as tradeshows, conferences and community events.

  • You are curious and improvement focused. You track metrics to support continuous improvement. You know where you can infuse AI whilst always keeping our established tone to ensure your products feel clear, consistent and human.

  • You align with our mission, vision and values and believe in giving back. You support communications related to corporate social responsibility initiatives and community engagement. You believe in the strength of solid relationships and networks.

  • You collaborate and pitch in. As part of a small but mighty team, you are comfortable leaning in, supporting teammates, and contributing to a wide range of marketing and communications initiatives and events.
