Job summary

Future Electronics in the Montreal region is seeking an Intern Systems Administrator to join our IT team, supporting Windows and cloud services and gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist with Windows patching, on-premises servers, AD users, Entra ID, and basic automation (PowerShell), working with senior staff and documenting processes for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems and basic networking concepts.
• Interest in learning core Microsoft technologies like Active Directory and Azure/Microsoft 365.
• Exposure to ticketing/support practices and troubleshooting concepts is an asset.
• Scripting/automation interest (PowerShell) is an asset.
• Relevant entry‑level certifications (or progress toward them) are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining Windows patching and endpoint/server update processes under supervision.
• Provide support for an on‑premises Windows Server environment (file/print services, DNS/DHCP, AD users/groups).
• Help with basic administration tasks in Azure and Microsoft 365 following documented procedures.
• Participate in routine operational activities such as monitoring, account requests, access changes, and documentation updates.
• Support troubleshooting and ticket resolution, escalating appropriately and keeping clear notes for follow-up.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by learning internal standards and assisting with small automation tasks (PowerShell).
• Assist with other IT infrastructure and operations tasks as needed.

In this role, you will support the day-to‑day operations and continuous improvement of our Microsoft technology environment, including on‑premises Windows infrastructure and Azure/Microsoft 365 services. You’ll work closely with senior team members in a collaborative and fast-paced environment while building hands‑on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining Windows patching and endpoint/server update processes under supervision.
• Provide support for an on‑premises Windows Server environment (e.g., file/print services, DNS/DHCP, and Active Directory users/groups).
• Help with basic administration tasks in Azure and Microsoft 365 (e.g., Entra ID/Azure AD, Microsoft 365 apps and services) following documented procedures.
