Job summary

Pomerleau invites motivated students to join as a Construction Quality Intern. You will support field inspections, manage project documentation, and help ensure work aligns with plans and standards.

The program emphasizes hands-on learning across major Canadian projects and offers mentorship from experienced professionals. Applicants must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution, maintain eligibility to work in Canada, and hold a valid ASP Health & Safety Card.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • Valid driver’s license (carpooling opportunities available).
  • Valid ASP Construction Health and Safety Card.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to work independently.
  • Creativity, resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and the Project Engineer in planning and conducting field inspections.
  • Manage technical documentation on the internal project platform.
  • Verify construction work compliance with design documents, specifications, standards and execution plans.
  • Identify deviations and issue observations and non-conformance reports; follow up on corrective actions.
  • Support the preparation of daily inspection reports under supervision of the engineer.
  • Ensure proper recording and documentation of work compliance.
  • Participate in daily construction meetings.
  • Organize inspection records to support milestone documentation.

To be eligible for Pomerleau’s internship program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application and for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Reside in Canada at the time of application and for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Be duly enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution or have graduated from such an institution within no more than six (6) months prior to the internship start date.

Join Pomerleau as a Construction Quality Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting major construction projects across Canada.

Renouveau La Fontaine (RLF) is the consortium (Eurovia, Pomerleau, and Dodin) selected by the Quebec Ministry of Transportation for the major rehabilitation of the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel, the longest immersed tunnel in Canada, along with its approaches via Highways 20 and 25.

What you will do
