Job summary

Pomerleau invites applications for an IT Support Intern position based in Laval, Canada. You will provide first-level IT support for end users, assist in workstation setups, and contribute to a structured IT environment under supervision.

Ideal candidates have IT-related education, strong French and English communication, and a willingness to learn cybersecurity basics while delivering excellent user service.

Qualifications

• DEP/DEC/AEC in Information Technology, in progress or recently completed.
• Knowledge of Windows 10/11 environments and workstation components.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Office).
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, peripherals, and networks.
• Ability to follow a troubleshooting methodology and research information.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level IT support and respond to user incidents and service requests.
• Perform initial troubleshooting and apply documented solutions during the first interaction where possible.
• When issues cannot be resolved immediately, document steps and escalate to the appropriate resource.
• Assist with preparation and configuration of workstations as part of deployments.
• Help maintain accuracy of IT equipment inventory and internal documentation.
• Contribute to creation, updating, and improvement of support procedures.

Join Pomerleau as a IT Support Intern and gain hands-on experience by contributing to day-to-day IT support activities for end users, under the supervision of the IT Coordinator and with guidance from experienced technicians. In this role, you will serve as a first-line resource for handling requests and incidents related to workstations, business software, and peripheral devices.

This internship offers recent graduates of an IT support program the opportunity to develop their technical skills, customer service approach, and understanding of a structured IT environment.

What you will do

• Provide first-level IT support and respond to user incidents and service requests.
• Perform initial troubleshooting and apply documented solutions during the first interaction whenever possible.
• When issues cannot be resolved immediately, accurately document the troubleshooting steps and actions taken, then elevate requests to the appropriate resource.
• Assist with the preparation and configuration of workstations as part of equipment deployments and replacements.
• Help maintain the accuracy and currency of the IT equipment inventory.
• Contribute to the creation, updating, and improvement of internal documentation and support procedures.

This role could be for you

• DEP, DEC, or AEC in Information Technology, currently in progress or recently completed.
• Knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments and workstation components.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office applications.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, peripherals, mobile devices, local networks, and connectivity.
• Ability to follow a troubleshooting methodology, research information, and apply technical procedures.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, remote support tools, and software installation.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices and information protection.
• Strong interest in IT support, hands-on learning, and user service.
• Active listening skills and the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
• Curiosity, resourcefulness, and a willingness to seek solutions while recognizing when to ask for support.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to procedures.
• Team-oriented mindset, punctuality, reliability, and professionalism.
• Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple requests, and seek assistance when appropriate.
• Excellent French language skills and the ability to communicate in English in an IT support environment.
