Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group Ltd. in Vancouver is seeking an Intern to join the Investment Analytics Engineering team, bridging financial analytics and programming.

The IA Engineering Team focuses on applying technology to generate insights and build solutions. You will assist in analytics discovery, support modernization of analytics platform, and contribute to research, data transformation, and visualization efforts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Math, Data Science or CS.
• Interest in the asset management industry and investment analytics; exposure is a bonus but not required.
• Familiarity with Python, R, SQL or PowerBI is a plus and indicates readiness to work with data.
• Strong foundational data skills: querying, analyzing datasets, and growing data science capability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in research and propose new analytic methodologies to enhance decision-making and analytics offerings.
• Develop scalable investment analytics (performance, attribution, risk, exposure) and build visualizations.
• Support data engineering tasks to strengthen data pipelines and improve workflows.
• Propose and apply AI where it adds value in modelling and data querying.

The IA Engineering Team exists at the intersection of financial analytics and programming/data science. The ideal candidate has a passion for both sides of the role, understands complex financial concepts, and can apply technology to find insights and implement solutions. What You Will Do

In this position, you will support our team's analytics discovery and platform digital transformation efforts. You will work with project leads to explore ideas for insight generation, applying your investment analytics and data science knowledge to support affiliates' investment processes. You will also contribute to the modernization of our analytics platform, supporting its methodology, design, and implementation. Key responsibilities for this business role include:

• Assist in research and propose new analytic methodologies; identify opportunities to enhance decision-making and expand our analytics offering.
• Assist in developing scalable investment analytics (e.g., performance, attribution, risk, exposure, modeling), including transforming data and preparing/building data visualizations and business intelligence outputs.
• Support process and workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk, including assisting with data engineering tasks that strengthen data pipelines.
• Propose and apply AI where it adds value, such as in financial modelling, anomaly detection, and natural-language database querying.

What You Bring

• Education – Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Interest in the Industry – Curiosity about the asset management industry and investment analytics. Prior exposure is a bonus but not required.
• Passion for Technology – Enjoy working with data and are eager to develop skills in extracting insights through technology. Familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or PowerBI is an asset.
• Foundational Data Skills – Building on the ability to understand, query, and analyze information from datasets, and you’re eager to grow your data science skill set through hands‑on experience.
• Problem Solver – Approach problems with an analytical mindset, enjoy identifying patterns, and are motivated to learn how to develop practical solutions.
• Collaborative – Work well with others, contribute positively to team discussions, and communicate clearly as you learn and ask questions.

The salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
