Job summary

Bombardier is seeking an Intern, Engineering - Service (Winter 2027) in Canada. You will support the Service Engineering group for the business aircraft fleet, collaborating with operators and maintenance centers.

The role involves designing and repairing in-service aircraft, developing tools to improve efficiency, and liaising with multiple departments. Hybrid work, four-month duration, travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Second-year engineering student in Mechanical or Aerospace.
• Interest in aviation and willingness to travel outside Canada.
• Experience with 3D modeling and 2D drafting (Autocad/CATIA V5).
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Strong teamwork and communication in French and English.
• Knowledge of aircraft systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Business Aircraft Service Engineering group for in-service aircraft.
• Create designs and repairs and oversee their implementation worldwide.
• Collaborate with operators and maintenance centers to respond to requests.
• Create and improve tools or processes to enhance research efficiency and daily work of the Service Engineering group.
• Use initiative to assess implications of proposed solutions on other aircraft installations.
• Investigate aircraft issues, determine causes of failure and propose solutions.
• Liaise with service centers, suppliers, production and other departments.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Work to support the business aircraft fleet within the Bombardier Business Aircraft Service Engineering group
• Create designs and repairs that modify the aircraft in service and oversee their implementation worldwide
• Work in collaboration with operators / maintenance center to respond to their specific requests.
• Create and improve tools or processes in order to enhance the researches efficiency and improve the daily work of the Service Engineering group
• Use initiative and judgment to recognize the implications of proposed solutions on other Aircraft installations.
• Investigate aircraft issues, determine causes of failure and propose solutions.
• Liaise with other departments such as service centers, suppliers, production, etc.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have completed your second year of engineering degree (mechanical or aerospace).
• You are motivated and demonstrate an interest in aviation.
• You have knowledge and experience in 3D modeling and 2D drafting with Autocad or CATIA V5.
• You have knowledge of the MS office suite.
• You have a thirst for knowledge and like to discover the “why”.
• You are a team player, who easily integrates himself/herself to a group and is ready to help colleagues. You support and demonstrate a spirit of innovation, professionalism and commitment.
• You have good oral and written communication skills in French and English.
• Knowledge of some aircraft systems is an asset.
