Job summary

TC Energy seeks a Student Intern to support a variety of legal matters across corporate, securities, finance, litigation, employment, supply chain, and stakeholder relations. You'll work with experienced professionals on research, regulatory compliance, and governance to support the company's operations across North America.

You'll gain hands-on experience drafting memoranda, preparing due diligence materials, and assisting with financings, contracts, and litigation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Canadian JD or LLB program
• Completion of second year of law school prior to May 2027 start
• Completed at least one legal research course
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the term

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and draft legal memoranda on corporate, securities, finance, warranties, liabilities, indemnities, and employment matters
• Review securities regulatory requirements and corporate law
• Assist with corporate governance items
• Review corporate policies and prepare board materials
• Draft memoranda on corporate, securities and finance issues
• Prepare due diligence materials for financings
• Assist in litigation and contract interpretation tasks
• Carry out other tasks as required

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Student Intern to support a variety of legal matters across corporate, securities, finance, litigation, employment, supply chain, and stakeholder relations functions.

This role provides hands‑on experience working alongside legal professionals on research, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, financing activities, contract matters, litigation support, and legal documentation. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of legal practice areas while supporting work that contributes to TC Energy's business operations and strategic objectives.

What you'll do

• Conduct research and draf legal memoranda on legal issues arising in a variety of areas including corporate law, securities and finance law, warranties, liabilities, indemnities, supply chain management, and litigation and employment matters;
• Reviewsecurities regulatory requirements and corporate law;
• Assist with corporate governance items;
• Review corporate policies;
• Assist in the preparation of materials for the board of directors and its committees;
• Draft legal memoranda relating to corporate, securities and finance law issues;
• Assist in drafting documents and preparing due diligence materials in connection with financings;
• Assist counsel in litigation and contract interpretation matters, including conducting legal research, document review, and drafting memoranda of fact and law;
• Conduct document review; and
• Carry out other tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Canadian JD or LLB degree program
• Completion of second year of law school prior to the start of the work term in May 2027
• Completion of at least one legal research course
• Returning to full-time studies immediately following the work term
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the work term
