RVA is seeking an Intermediate Transportation Design Technologist in various locations to work on a variety of challenging projects.

The individual will have the opportunity to work on transportation infrastructure projects of varying scope and size which support and enhance community mobility. You will be part of a multidisciplinary group delivering multimodal projects involving roadways and highways, bridges, traffic engineering, and transportation planning.

Responsibilities
  • Providing engineering and technical expertise on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Participating in studies, assessments, modeling, preliminary and detailed design using AutoCAD / Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation InRoads / OpenRoads
  • Contributing to reports, drawings, and other engineering documents
  • Preparing designs for municipal road reconstructions, water / sewer systems, site grading, and stormwater management
  • Communicating with clients, consultants, and contractors under supervision
  • Supporting proposals preparation
  • Collaborating with project teams to meet deadlines and budgets
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including specifications, quantities, and construction estimates
  • Mentoring junior engineers and technologists as needed
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
  • 3-7 years of experience in municipal / transportation design engineering, with some consulting experience would be an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of highway geometric design principles, grading, and drainage
  • Familiarity with municipal and provincial transportation design standards
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
