Job summary

A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Marine Biologist to join their Marine Services Group. The role involves leading marine assessments, conducting field surveys, and mentoring junior staff. Qualifications

  • Registered (or eligible) as an RPBio in British Columbia.
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience, preferably in environmental consulting.
  • Proven experience with marine construction monitoring and regulatory compliance.

Job description

Our client is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Marine Biologist to join their Marine Services Group.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead marine biological assessments, habitat restoration, and environmental impact studies
  • Plan and conduct marine field surveys (e.g., habitat mapping, species inventories, water quality monitoring)
  • Analyze data and prepare clear, well-organized technical reports
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and project success

Qualifications :

  • Degree in Marine Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field (M.Sc. preferred)
  • Registered (or eligible) as an RPBio in British Columbia
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in environmental consulting
  • Strong knowledge of marine ecosystems, environmental permitting, and impact assessment processes
  • Proven experience with marine construction monitoring, water / sediment quality monitoring, habitat and species assessments, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong project management, organization, and leadership abilities
