Job summary

WSP Canada is seeking an environmental professional to join the RPM team to support contaminated site assessments, monitoring, and remediation projects across Canada. The role emphasizes technical writing, data QA/QC, and regulatory reporting within a leading professional services firm.

You will collaborate with project managers and field technicians to deliver high-quality documentation, support health and safety practices, and contribute to major environmental projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geoscience and/or Engineering is required.
  • 4 to 6 years of direct experience in contaminated site assessments, site monitoring and remediation.
  • Working knowledge of the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation and relevant Protocols is preferred.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Participation in a team environment, supporting Project Managers and Field Technicians.
  • Produce high-quality written technical reports for environmental site assessments, monitoring and remediation projects.
  • Prepare site closure documentation (detailed site investigations, regulatory forms).
  • QA/QC laboratory data and generate tables.
  • Compare results to site-specific regulatory guidelines and reporting needs for project coordinators and directors.
  • Generate and QA/QC regulatory checklists and forms for reporting requirements.
  • Create, execute and revise work plans to meet Project Manager's needs.

WSP's RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada. The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members. We specialize in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast. The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively.

Your Impact
  • Participation in a team environment, working closely with and supporting Project Managers and Field Technicians.
  • Produce high quality written technical reports in support of large and small environmental site assessment, monitoring and remediation projects.
  • Preparation of Site closure documentation (detailed site investigations, regulatory forms).
  • QA/QC laboratory data then generate tables.
  • Compare the results to site-specific regulatory guidelines and/or protocols for reporting needs for the various Project Coordinators, Project Managers and Project Directors.
  • Generate and QA/QC regulatory checklists, forms and other documents in support of reporting requirements to meet the site-specific project needs of provincial Contaminated Site Regulations, protocols and/or Guidelines.
  • Create, execute and revise work plans to meet Project Manager's needs.

Preference will be given to those individuals with more extensive experience with respect to soil and groundwater monitoring programs, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, site remediation, provincial Contaminated Site checklists, forms and protocols. And, have related field experience.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Geoscience and/or Engineering).
  • 4 to 6 years of direct experience in contaminated site assessments, site monitoring and remediation.
  • Working knowledge of the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation and relevant Protocols and Technical Guidance documents.
  • Experience with statistical analysis using common analytical software.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace and possess a safety conscious attitude.
  • Ability to work patiently with and help train less experienced team members.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and key judgment skills.
  • Experience in the oil and gas sector will be an asset.

Compensation
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $69,700 - $92,300
  • MB & ON: $63,600 - $87,500
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $62,900 - $83,600
