Job Description
- Maintain electronic records and physical stores of Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment at the client site for obsolescence management of EW assets and support of EW capability development.
- Stay informed on current and future technological developments in EW to advise on equipment delivery planning and related activities.
- Possess working knowledge of Python, Cisco device configuration, and open standards for Joint Interface Control Documents.
- Manage authorized EW equipment distribution.
- Ensure the fielded EW baseline is maintained and that configurable items (CIs) meet specifications, analyzing failure rates and engineering changes.
- Develop and maintain EW technical publications, including schematics, parts lists, engineering changes, and test & evaluation reports.
- Provide system user audits and gather feedback.
- Support testing and evaluation activities.
- Assist procurement by providing information on terms and conditions, SOWs, specifications, and data item descriptions.
- Advise on procurement planning for EW obsolescence management.
- Support onboarding and training of new EW staff through informal discussions on EW technology and experiences.
- Support EW change management by configuring the EW baseline and integrating new devices and technologies.
- Advise on EW obsolescence management as a network and software SME.
- Support the implementation of projects like the Airspace Coordination Centre Modernization (ASCCM) and Digitally Aided Close Air Support.
- Develop, integrate, validate, and verify hardware and software components for projects.
- Design system architecture for LC4ISR systems and gather system requirements for complex systems.
- Develop system-level architecture for C2 communication, information systems, and Data architecture within distributed and client/server environments.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex communication and information system issues on WLS platforms and related projects.
- Design and implement solutions for communication and information systems on WLS platforms.
- Create tools and processes for C2 communication in WLS and client/server environments.
- Develop and maintain test beds and procedures.
- Perform system integration, verification, and validation for hardware and software components.
Qualifications
- Proof of STEM diploma (minimum 2 years) or university degree in networking, software, computer, systems, electrical, or a related engineering/technical field supporting Land C4ISR.
- At least 4 years of system engineering experience in at least 3 of the following areas: command and control communication systems, ISTAR systems, system analysis, design, or implementation, and system lifecycle management.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a System Specialist on Military C4ISR systems.
- At least 4 years experience in preparing technical documents, system specifications, and proposals in IT/engineering fields.
- Experience in communicating IT frameworks, system engineering directions, and providing technical guidance.
Additional Information
- Must obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance and a Controlled Goods certification.
- Availability to work onsite 5 days a week in Gatineau and/or Ottawa.
