Lampkin Structural Services Ltd. is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer with a strong background in residential wood-frame design to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about creative, efficient, and code-compliant structural solutions.

Job Description :

• Design low- to mid-rise residential wood-frame buildings (custom homes, townhomes, low-rise apartments)
• Prepare structural calculations and drawing markups for permit and construction
• Review architectural drawings and coordinate with other disciplines
• Provide support during construction including RFIs and site reviews
• Collaborate with junior staff, clients, and contractors to deliver successful projects

Qualifications :

3–5 years of experience in structural design, with a strong focus on wood-frame construction

Solid knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and CSA O86 (Wood Design Code)

Proficiency in software such as ETABS, WoodWorks, and Excel-based design tools

Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects

Familiarity with residential construction methods and site conditions in Ontario

Bonus Skills :

Experience with lateral design (wind / seismic for wood)

Exposure to mid-rise wood (5–6 storeys), hybrid, or mass timber projects

Experience with AutoCAD or Revit for reviewing or marking up drawings
