You will find the opportunity in WSP’s Power subsector, a key component of the ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector. WSP is currently seeking Structural Engineer to join our team, located in one of our offices in Vancouver or Victoria, BC.

This position sits within the Hydropower & Dams market sector of the Power Division, which has 140 employees across Canada. The role provides structural expertise in designing and optimizing the civil and structural elements of hydroelectric projects (development, rehabilitation), dam and hydraulic structures engineering, and dam safety. We collaborate with public and private sector clients on innovative projects that allow team members to demonstrate their expertise and train a new generation of passionate professionals.

What you can expect to do here:
  • You will participate in feasibility studies and detailed engineering of new structures or rehabilitation of existing structures (dams, spillways, hydroelectric power plants);
  • You will perform reinforced concrete and steel structure design;
  • You will participate in site inspections;
  • You will participate in the preparation of plans and specifications;
  • You will prepare reports and calculation notes;
  • You will carry out dam safety studies.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
  • Bachelors or master\'s degree in civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent program;
  • 6-10 years experience in structural engineering;
  • Must be registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in British Columbia;
  • Experience in structural concrete and steel design;
  • Experience with Hydropower and Dam projects preferred;
  • Multi-disciplinary versatility, leadership skills, dynamic, team-spirited, quality-oriented, and technical excellence are essential;
  • Strong communication skills.
Compensation

Salary range (in British Columbia): $91,200- $125,400

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
