As an Intermediate Structural Engineer specializing in Buildings and supporting the Building Restoration Team, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and implementation of structural solutions for various building projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and functionality of buildings across sectors such as commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial. Working closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams, you will provide innovative and efficient structural solutions while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Structural Analysis and Design:
   • Conduct detailed structural analysis using advanced software tools to assess loads, stresses, and deformations on building structures.
   • Develop structural design concepts and solutions that meet project requirements while optimizing for safety, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
   • Prepare comprehensive structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for construction documentation.
2. Project Management:
   • Lead and manage building projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
   • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate structural requirements seamlessly into overall project plans.
   • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
3. Client Interaction:
   • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs, goals, and constraints, providing expert guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
   • Present technical proposals, reports, and findings to clients clearly, addressing any concerns or questions.
   • Cultivate strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.
4. Technical Leadership:
   • Serve as a subject matter expert in structural engineering, staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
   • Mentor and coach junior engineers, providing guidance on technical matters, professional development, and project execution.
   • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design methodologies, standards, and workflows within the organization.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
   • Ensure all structural designs and calculations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
   • Conduct reviews and checks of design documentation to uphold quality standards and minimize errors.
   • Participate in audits, addressing findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
2. Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in building structural engineering
4. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as S-Frame, ETABS, spSlab or similar
5. Strong knowledge of relevant building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC).
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
7. Proven track record of successful project management and client engagement.
8. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
9. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of structural engineering.
10. Post Tensioning Analysis and Design experience is a strong asset.
