Intermediate Structural Engineer: Harvey 2640

We are a full-service multi-discipline engineering firm specializing in commercial, industrial and residential development design.

Over the past 35 years, we have established a reputation for excellence in Alberta, British Columbia, and other Canadian provinces by providing the most innovative, comprehensive and cost-effective solutions to clients.

We are currently seeking an intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Structural Division in Abbotsford, BC.

This position will play a key role in structural design and calculations, preparing drawings and construction services.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including existing buildings and structures.
  • Complete structural calculations and prepare and edit structural specifications.
  • Review engineering design for compliance with established codes, standards, and specifications; provide technical support to designers and drafters.
  • Prepare reports and other technical documentation as required by the client.
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Support senior staff with inter-discipline coordination, project reporting, and structural analysis and design.
  • Provide general project coordination services.
  • Coordinate with technical staff in preparation of contract drawings and documents and other work tasks.
  • Coordinate structural designs and documents with other disciplines (Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Landscaping, etc.).
  • Provide structural engineering support during construction, attend site meetings, and carry out field reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • P. Eng or registered as an EIT.
  • Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of related work experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter and team player.
  • A valid driver's license.

This is a full-time permanent position.

Salary of $75,000 – $95,000 per year plus, depending on experience.
