Job summary

Associated Engineering seeks an Intermediate Structural Engineer for our Kelowna office to lead bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation projects. You will work with senior staff to grow skills in project delivery, MMCD contract administration and concrete rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in bridge engineering, a Civil or Structural Engineering degree, and EGBC registration or eligibility. Hybrid work options and competitive compensation are offered.

• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
• 4+ years of structural bridge engineering experience.
• Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Committed team player and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation projects with support from senior staff.
• Develop proficient skills in all areas of project delivery.
• Inspect and assess existing bridge structures for municipal clients.
• Design concrete rehabilitation for municipal bridges and design municipal/highway bridges.
• Prepare tender packages and supplementary technical specifications.
• Administer contracts in accordance with MMCD.

What you’ll do:

Lead bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation projects with the support of senior staff and further develop proficient skills in all areas of project delivery, including:

• Inspection and assessment of existing bridge structures for municipal clients.
• Design of concrete rehabilitation for municipal bridges.
• Design of municipal and highway bridges.
• Design of earth retaining structures.
• Tender package preparation including developing supplementary technical specifications for use with the MMCD contract document framework.
• Contract administration in accordance with MMCD.
