Base pay range

We are seeking an Intermediate Database Developer with experience in Snowflake or other relational databases to support the development, optimization, and management of our data systems. The ideal candidate will have strong scripting skills in Python, basic Unix/Linux knowledge, and excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with the team.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Montreal is CAD $75k – CAD $85k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve database systems, mainly in Snowflake or other major relational databases.
• Work with team members and stakeholders to understand data needs and create efficient solutions.
• Monitor and fix any database performance issues.
• Write Python scripts for automation and data tasks.
• Help with database setup, testing, and documentation.
• Support tasks like backups, data migration, and security.
• Use basic Unix/Linux commands and tools to manage databases.

Requirements:

• Overall at least 2 years of experience in the technology field.
• Basic knowledge of developing and optimizing databases in Snowflake or similar systems.
• Experience with Python scripting.
• Basic understanding of Unix/Linux systems.
• Good communication skills to work well with others.
• Ability to troubleshoot database problems and improve performance.
• Knowledge of query optimization and indexing is a plus.
