Qualifications

Purpose

Responsible for the efficient execution of assigned tasks specific to all shipping and receiving tasks including MRP updating and posting of receipts, processing of Sales/Purchasing Orders, reconciliation of discrepancies, including NCR's/MDR's, carrier selection, packaging and preparation of required CERS-Export and Import documentation of multimodal shipments for domestic, U.S. and Global shipments, both inbound and outbound. Cross Border Shipping and Receiving, dealing with Custom Brokerage houses and Freight Forwarders. Process Warranty Returns and perform related shipping activities, maintain accurate and up-to-date records and workspace housekeeping to 5S standards and comply with safe forklift operations, health and safety procedures and practices. Act as backup to Stores. Perform other assignments as requested.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently executes assigned multimodal shipping and receiving tasks to include imports/exports, domestic distribution, and overseas shipments. Responsible for end-to-end shipping and receiving processes including MRP maintenance, posting and reporting of shipping/receiving transactions, managing warranty returns, NCR's/MDR's and processing of purchase orders.
  • Keep up to date with the company products, parts and commodities carried and maintained in the stockroom and efficiently executes material handling best practices, stock issues and receipt procedures, inventory control methodologies and safe material handling procedures.
  • Processes warranty returns, packages inbound/outbound shipments in accordance with regulatory requirements, and maintains an accurate history of warranty receipt transactions including RMAs.
  • Applies expertise and knowledgeable with domestic and international Customs Regulatory requirements including USMCA, the Canada Customs Tariff's, Duties and Taxes; responsible for the preparation of compliant export and import documentation including Country of Origin Certificate and Commercial Invoices, manage and maintain the Customs Document Management System.
  • Applies expertise and becomes further knowledgeable about the multimodal transportation industry including domestic, cross-border and international air, land and sea carriers, responsible for the recommendation of qualified, reliable and best value, lowest cost vendors, insurance regulations and the efficient use of shipping / invoicing electronic hardware and software applications such as UPS and Fed Ex, maintain carrier rate schedules, agreements, and participate with Purchasing in carrier rate negotiations.

Education

  • Preferred Undergraduate degree in possession of or interest in working towards a P. Log or CITT designation
  • Strong MS Office skills along with general computer operations
  • Requires valid certification to operate a lift truck (Raymond Reach) as well as a valid driver's license

Qualifications

  • Seven to Ten years' experience in international shipping and receiving function with a working knowledge of USMCA, brokerage and inbound / outbound logistics management
  • Proficient in using UPS and Fed Ex shipping software
  • Previous experience as a user of an MRP system
  • Working knowledge of Inventory Control best practices
  • Experienced in packaging setup and assembly
  • Working knowledge in preparing export and import documentation and maintaining USMCA Certificates of Origin
  • Experienced in carrier, courier and freight forwarder management and expediting
  • Intermediate level skills in Excel and Word
  • Experienced in safe material handling practices, must be able to lift packaging
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
