Intermediate SharePoint Developer to support with SharePoint Online migration for a public sector client (561)

Our client is seeking an Intermediate SharePoint Developer to support with SharePoint Online migration for a public sector client (561)

This is a remote role but if requested, the successful consultant may be required to travel to Edmonton for meetings at their own expense.

Must Haves:

  1. 2+ years' experience as a SharePoint Analyst or SharePoint Developer
  2. Preparing and documenting materials for user acceptance testing
  3. Troubleshooting forms and workflows (all types)
  4. Experience using and supporting ShareGate
  5. Experience acting as a Site Collection Administrator
  6. Experience with complex SharePoint projects including solutions depending on: managed metadata, workflows, forms, and user interface customization
  7. Experience with the development, integration, and support of Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online

Additional Requirements:

  1. 2+ years with:
  2. Experience applying patches/updates to SharePoint environments
  3. Experience in developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements
  4. Experience using PowerShell to manage Farm/Application/Site Collection/Site Features
  5. Experience with disaster recovery testing
  6. Experience with Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online admin portal, reporting, configuration, and administrative tasks
  7. Experience with the use of Central Administration on a SharePoint environment
  8. Experience with upgrading Microsoft SharePoint environments and migration of content
  9. Experience with the public sector Information Technology/Information Management policies, standards and guidelines

Required Skills:

  1. Experience in Design, User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI) to create intuitive and visually appealing user-centered experiences
  2. Ability to translate business requirements from non-technical stakeholders into user-centric designs, balancing user needs and design constraints to create highly functional and visually appealing interfaces
  3. Experience with SharePoint Online and content management systems (CMS) and best practices
  4. Knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite is an asset
  5. Ability to design and implement custom web parts, themes, and workflows is an asset
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues

Responsibilities:

  1. User gathering and effective communication with the stakeholders
  2. Migrating the content from existing Intranet websites into the new modernized pages
  3. Design and build responsive and user-friendly Intranet pages using SharePoint Online
  4. Customize SharePoint components, including web parts, lists, libraries, and workflows
  5. Develop custom themes, templates, and branding elements to align with client guidelines
  6. Optimize site navigation and structure for ease of use
  7. Implement content management best practices, ensuring consistent and engaging communication
  8. Develop workflows and automation to improve content publishing efficiency
  9. Perform business analysis and design to support creating SharePoint solutions
  10. Provide first and second-level technical support for SharePoint-related issues, including user inquiries, system errors, and performance problems
  11. Troubleshoot SharePoint site and application issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner
  12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement enhancements to SharePoint sites and applications
  13. Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials to support end-users and IT staff in using and administering SharePoint
  14. Participate in testing and quality assurance activities to validate the functionality, performance, and usability of SharePoint solutions
  15. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to SharePoint and collaborate with the team to evaluate their potential impact and benefits
  16. Perform business requirements and complex design in delivering solutions using out-of-box SharePoint components
  17. Provide expertise for the design of new processes for support of Microsoft SharePoint and related systems
  18. Validation of content and data used to support migration efforts
  19. Resolution of day-to-day problems arising through operational support of SharePoint
  20. Development and implementation of solutions both individually and as a member of the SharePoint operations team
  21. Routine reports that correlate hours worked with operational duties
