+VG Architects is a full-service architectural firm known for our innovative approaches to projects throughout Southern Ontario and abroad. With offices in Toronto, Brantford, and Ottawa, we specialize in projects in the Institutional Sector including heritage, educational, municipal, cultural and recreational buildings.

Our Toronto Studio is a mid-sized office where you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects in a collaborative setting alongside a team of dedicated architects, designers, technologists and technicians.

Position:

Intermediate-Senior Technologist with 10 years experience. This position is principally to lead the production of contract documents and working drawings. Your role will be to work on projects from design development through working drawings and complete thorough and competent Construction Documentation. You will be working in both Revit and AutoCAD environments.

The successful candidate will participate in ongoing development of standards with +VG’s Revit Working Group. Skills with project visualization programs such as Enscape or SketchUp will be considered an asset. You should have experience with best practice building envelope design and detailing. Also experience preparing Ontario Building Code Analysis for projects and applying these requirements in the development of the building. Building typologies will include Institutional, Commercial, and Recreational building. Experience in Residential would also be considered an asset. Exhibit strong leadership and relationship-building skills, while mentoring and coaching junior team members.

Qualifications include:

1. Graduate degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology or Architectural Engineering
2. Years experience commensurate with the identified position
3. Ability and desire to work in a team environment
4. Software Proficiencies: Advanced skills in AutoCAD and Revit
5. Understanding of the Ontario Building Code
6. Knowledge of construction detailing and building science principles
7. Experience and understanding of ALL phases of projects: design and production
8. Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills required.

Salary Range:

$65,000 minimum for INTERMEDIATE TECHNOLOGIST.

$75,000 minimum for SENIOR TECHNOLOGIST.
