Reports to : Team Lead or Engineering Manager

Based at : Regional Office

Position Purpose : Working closely with the Project Manager and Project Engineer, assisting on various projects, and contributing to the technical capability and production requirements of the Service Line. Provides exceptional customer service and coordination assistance with internal and external project partners (clients, architects, consultants, contractors, etc.).

Specific Responsibilities Include :

• Write reports that do not require significant editing
• Coordinate with all Service Lines, extract and relay relevant information for complex problems
• Maintain a working knowledge of building codes
• Assist with fee proposals by assessing time budget required to execute project tasks
• Operate independently on routine projects
• Review and help complete complex mechanical systems drawings
• Complete phases of the project within the duration of time that has been budgeted
• Provide guidance and leadership to junior teammates, including reviewing drawings and ensuring technical standards are met
• Contribute to maintaining and improving quality control
• Share expertise with other offices
• Prepare technical designs for building mechanical systems such as HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Sprinkler and Fire Suppression, Fuel systems
• Select equipment and components to achieve goals of the mechanical system
• Resolve mechanical system construction conflicts with contractors as needed
• Conduct site reviews and write reports of observations and conclusions
• Perpetuate, clarify, and embody WE Purpose and Core Values
• Adhere to company policies, safety policies, and practices
• Apply for a Federal security clearance if required for institutional projects

Education & Experience :

• Typically a graduate of a 1-2 year technical certificate or diploma in Mechanical Technology
• 4 – 6 years of experience
• May hold or be working towards a C.E.T. designation
• May be working towards R.E.T. designation
