Reports to: Team Lead or Engineering Manager

Based at: Regional Office

Position Purpose: Working closely with the Project Manager and Project Engineer, assisting on various projects, and contributing to the technical capability and production requirements of the Service Line. Provides exceptional customer service and coordination assistance with internal and external project partners (clients, architects, consultants, contractors, etc.).

Specific Responsibilities Include

  • Write reports that do not require significant editing
  • Coordinate with all Service Lines, extract and relay relevant information for complex problems.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of building codes.
  • Assist with fee proposals by assessing time budget required to execute project tasks.
  • Operate independently on routine projects.
  • Review and help complete complex mechanical systems drawings.
  • Complete phases of the project within the duration of time that has been budgeted.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to junior teammates, this includes reviewing .drawings and ensuring technical standards are met.
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving quality control.
  • Share expertise with other offices.
  • Prepare technical designs for building mechanical systems such as:
  • HVAC Systems
  • Plumbing Systems
  • Fire Sprinkler and Fire Suppression Systems
  • Fuel systems
  • Select equipment and components to achieve goals of the mechanical system
  • May resolve mechanical system construction conflicts with contractors.
  • May resolve mechanical system construction technical issues and cost implications.
  • Conduct site reviews and write reports of observations and conclusions.
  • Perpetuate, clarify, and embody WE Purpose and Core Values.
  • Teammates are required to adhere to the company policies and guidelines as well as the company and client safety policies and practices in effect at any given time.
  • Have the ability to apply for a Federal security clearance in order to work on institutional projects as required.


Education & Experience

  • Typically a graduate of a 1-2 year technical certificate or diploma program in Mechanical Technology.
  • 4 – 6 years of experience.
  • May hold or be working towards a C.E.T. designation.
  • May be working towards R.E.T. designation.


Skills & Capabilities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a person who listens well, respects diversity of perspectives, and has an open, clear, and succinct communication style.
  • Application knowledge of WE systems and programs including MS Office 365, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, AutoCAD, Revit MEP.
  • Have a working knowledge of budgets.
  • Able to identify innovative technical approaches to building mechanical systems engineering.
  • Ability to identify risks and satisfy both client needs and company needs.
  • Ability to accurately apply codes and regulations.
  • Ability to coordinate with all Service Lines and extract and relay relevant information for complex projects.
