Qualifications

What you can expect to do here:

  1. Provide expert support in executing advanced hydrogeological services, including groundwater components of Environmental Impact Assessments, baseline hydrogeological studies, mine dewatering, and groundwater supply projects.
  2. Lead the development and application of analytical and numerical groundwater models for complex projects.
  3. Manage and analyze hydrogeological data, ensuring accurate integration into reports, including advanced data analysis, borehole logs, and model interpretations.
  4. Analyze data and results, presenting insights through well-structured reports.
  5. Own project deliverables, applying technical expertise and leadership.
  6. Uphold health and safety policies of WSP and clients.
  7. Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.
  8. Collaborate with the groundwater modeling team in Calgary and across Canada and globally.

What you'll bring to WSP:

  • 5-10 years of proven experience in hydrogeology or groundwater modeling; more than 10 years encouraged to apply.
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil, Geological, Environmental Engineering, or Geology/Hydrogeology; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Specialization in groundwater modeling through coursework or experience.
  • Knowledge of geology in hydrogeology applications.
  • Licensed or eligible as a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist.
  • Proficiency in GIS, databases, visualization tools (e.g., Leapfrog).
  • Experience with modeling packages like MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas, FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, MIKE SHE.
  • Programming skills relevant to hydrogeology.
  • Field experience such as borehole logging, well installation, hydraulic testing, water sampling.
  • Strong organizational skills and technical communication.
