Tetra Tech is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Arctic Engineering team based in Whitehorse, YK.

Your Role:

  • Perform geotechnical investigations.
  • Design and supervise construction for projects involving municipal underground utilities, highways, airports, mine suite development, and building foundations.
  • Engage with projects in Canada’s northern territories, including Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut.
  • Collect and analyze geotechnical and permafrost data, develop specifications for earthworks, and prepare cost estimates. Mentor junior staff and communicate with clients and subconsultants.
  • Travel will be required for short-term field assignments.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and stay updated with industry standards.
  • Conduct activities in accordance with internal procedures, legislation, and standards.
  • Maintain safety protocols and report health and safety incidents.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Mining Engineering.
  • 5+ years of industry or consulting engineering experience.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in Yukon, legal entitlement to work in Canada, and a valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel to remote project sites.
  • Experience in project management within a consulting engineering environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GeoStudio 2007, and MS Office.
  • Valid driver’s license.
