GEI Consultants is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our team at the Barrie office. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about environmental science and sustainability, aiming to address complex environmental challenges and contribute to resilient communities.

About Barrie:

Barrie, known for its waterfront and vibrant downtown, offers a mix of natural beauty and urban amenities. Located an hour north of Toronto, it provides a great environment for professional and personal growth, with outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, and boating, supporting a healthy work-life balance.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Coordinate with clients and project teams to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Conduct field investigations, sampling soil, groundwater, and surface water.
  • Prepare detailed reports for environmental assessments, including Phased ESAs, DSS, Hydrogeological Studies, and others.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines to meet project goals.
  • Develop proposals and estimate project costs.
  • Some tasks may require working outside regular hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in environmental science or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation, soil science, geochemistry, and level loggers.
  • Willingness to work in various environmental conditions and both office and field settings.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
