Job summary
Englobe in New Brunswick is seeking an Electrical Technologist to join a collaborative team across Moncton and Fredericton, contributing to commercial, municipal, institutional and industrial projects.
You will plan, design and draft electrical systems, prepare detailed drawings with AutoCAD and Revit, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams while supporting site work and travel as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- 5 to 10 years of electrical design, drafting, or field services experience.
- Eligibility for, or registration as, a Professional Technologist (P.Tech.) designation is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of building electrical systems, including power distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and low-voltage systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design and drafting.
- Experience with electrical analysis and design software such as AGi32, SKM, ETAP, or similar tools is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Responsibilities

- Assist planning, design, and drafting of electrical systems for buildings.
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Contribute to power distribution, emergency power, lighting and fire alarm systems.
- Perform field investigations, site reviews, and data collection.
- Review shop drawings and contractor submissions for compliance.
- Assist in preparing technical reports, contracts, specs, and docs.
- Support development of budgets, costs estimates, and schedules.
- Coordinate electrical designs with multidisciplinary teams.
- Attend client and project meetings to support delivery.

As an Electrical Technologist, you will work in collaboration with the Electrical teams based in Moncton and Fredericton, NB, while contributing to a variety of commercial, municipal, institutional, and industrial projects. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety leadership by following and promoting Englobe's Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices;
- Assist with the planning, design, and drafting of electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects;
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit;
- Contribute to the design of power distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, security, access control, communications, and networking systems;
- Perform field investigations, site reviews, condition assessments, and data collection activities;
- Review shop drawings and contractor submissions for compliance with project requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, contract documents, specifications, and supporting project documentation;
- Support the development of project budgets, construction cost estimates, and schedules;
- Coordinate electrical designs with multidisciplinary project teams, including mechanical, structural, civil, and environmental professionals;
- Attend client meetings, project coordination meetings, and construction progress meetings while supporting project delivery objectives.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution;
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or field services within the consulting, construction, or engineering industry;
- Eligibility for, or registration as, a Professional Technologist (P.Tech.) designation is considered an asset;
- Strong understanding of building electrical systems, including power distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and low-voltage systems;
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices;
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design and drafting;
- Experience with electrical analysis and design software such as AGi32, SKM, ETAP, or similar tools is considered an asset;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset;
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities;
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
