Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer in our Atlantic region. The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, experience in electrical engineering design/analysis, project management, and business development skills. This is a hybrid position based out of our St. John’s, NL office; however, other home locations within Atlantic Canada would be considered.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Work within a multidisciplinary design team as a project manager with a focus on electrical-based projects.
  2. Complete site visits to document existing conditions in both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  3. Work with a team of engineers and designers through project development and completion.
  4. Carry out electrical detailed design/analysis (related to general arrangements, single line diagrams, protection and control schematics, equipment/cable schedules, construction specifications, etc.).
  5. Prepare detailed drawing reviews and mark-ups for designers/drafters.
  6. Complete budgetary estimates, write proposals, technical reports, and studies.
  7. Participate in formal engineering review processes.
  8. Complete projects from kick-off through completion of Construction and Commissioning.
  9. Industrial, Electric Utility (with a focus on mining and electrical utility facilities), commercial, institutional, and government projects.
Qualifications
  1. University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related discipline.
  2. Registered or able to register as an Engineer with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL).
  3. 5 or more years of relevant experience.
  4. Proven experience in site work, detailed design, project engineering, and construction.
  5. The capacity to interact within a multidisciplinary environment - an asset.
  6. Client-focused and keen to understand their problems and recommend solutions.
  7. Entrepreneurial spirit that will contribute to the growth of the business.
