Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work with clients to solve their problems by assembling and leading project teams. Build the plan, lead the team, change manage along the way, and assure a quality outcome.
  • Apply design skills to prepare or coordinate the preparation of contract drawings, specifications, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
  • Collaborate with EI&C group members, other Stantec disciplines, and clients to achieve project success, acting as a project team member or a project leader.
  • Successfully carry out assignments on project design teams.
  • Assist with field surveys for drawing developments, site reviews and as recorded drawings.
  • Effectively communicate with other team members in the department or project team.
  • Manage and lead electrical aspects of projects.
  • Provide technical expertise, mentoring and support to team members.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
  • Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • At least 7 years’ experience in the industrial consulting industry or in an industrial environment.
  • Must be self-motivated, team oriented, efficient, and a good communicator.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership skills, with proven ability to lead project teams and activities.
  • Strong collaborative skills while working with a single or multi-discipline team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to follow Stantec's quality control guidelines.
  • Understanding the importance of complying with Stantec's Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program, with a focus on safety in the field.
  • Desire to be mentored by Senior staff and to adapt to feedback as required. Desire to help mentor and coach others and contribute to strengthening the competency and culture of a broader team.
  • Capable of working on multiple projects concurrently.

Education And Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Eligibility for registration as a professional engineer with Engineers Nova Scotia and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick.
  • Registration as a professional engineer with the above organizations would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience is required.
  • Experience in electrical, instrumentation, and controls design for industrial environments (wood products, pulp & paper, food, power generation/distribution, oil & gas, mining) would be an asset.
  • Experience creating tender document packages, including detailed drawings and specifications would be considered an asset.
  • Professional Engineer status with any US state licensure board is considered an asset.

Successful candidate will primarily work in a flexible office environment. Some field work and extended travel may be required.
