Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Calgary, AB | Full-Time, On-Site | Salary: $80k-$120k+ (based on experience)

About the Opportunity:
We’re working with a well-established building engineering consultancy in Calgary that is actively seeking a Intermediate/Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This firm is known for its collaborative culture, award-winning project portfolio, and focus on high-performance building systems across a range of sectors including commercial, institutional, healthcare, and mixed-use developments.

This is a fully on-site role, ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with their team, contributing to technically complex projects, and mentoring junior designers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design for new construction, renovation, and retrofit projects across a variety of sectors
  • Develop detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Perform lighting calculations, power distribution layouts, and low-voltage system design
  • Ensure designs are code-compliant and aligned with project requirements and timelines
  • Attend client meetings and site visits; act as a key technical contact throughout the project lifecycle
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment

Qualifications

  • 3-8+ years of electrical design experience in the building consulting industry
  • P.Eng. or EIT designation in Alberta
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and lighting/power calculation tools
  • Strong understanding of OESC, CEC, Alberta and National Building Code, and related electrical standards
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with client-facing responsibilities
  • Previous experience with LEED projects, smart building systems, or sustainability-focused design is an asset
