Job summary

MDA is seeking a Business Analyst to optimize the MES environment and related sub-systems, aligning with ERP, PLM, quality and project management to support all MDA facilities. The candidate analyzes complex problems and delivers automated solutions, supporting the system development life cycle from design to testing.

The role requires strong critical thinking, communication and the ability to work independently with a passion for innovation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a business analyst with MES/ERP experience.
• Knowledge of relational database management systems (SQL Server).
• Programming experience in C#, Microsoft SQL and VB.Net.
• Power BI or similar BI tools experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing, supply chain and quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing cost-effective systems and procedures that meet user needs and company policies.
• Ensure compliance with MDA policies and consistency of practices across all facilities.
• Leverage the use of core systems and applications (ERP and manufacturing applications).
• Recommend changes, propose alternatives, improvements and identify gaps when business needs are not met.
• Configure system parameters and options; plan and execute unit, integration and acceptance tests; and create system specifications to meet business requirements and policies.
• Design operational workflow details for the system.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve business or system issues.
• Participate in technical design, testing, implementation planning, maintenance, and technical and systems support as part of system initiatives.
• Implement new technologies by participating in the evaluation of tools, software and technological practices, and maintain compliance with MDA's data governance policy.
• Design training programs, create documentation and user guides, and deliver training to other team members.
• Collaborate with other teams, team members and stakeholders.
• Provide general systems analysis and design support for other enterprise system-related activities as required.
• Using tools such as PowerBI and Excel, develop and present findings on key performance indicators, projections and performance analysis.

Role:

This position focuses on optimizing the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) environment and related sub-systems, in alignment with other major enterprise systems such as ERP, PLM, quality and project management, which support all MDA facilities. The Business Analyst analyzes complex problems and provides sustainable automated solutions to the business. The candidate supports the system development life cycle from design to testing phases. Interpretation, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and organizational skills are required. The candidate must have a good ability to work independently and show a strong interest in innovation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science or information technology, or in other relevant fields, or proven professional experience as a business analyst.
• 2+ years of experience as a business analyst, with specific experience in MES, ERP and other related systems.
• Knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) (Microsoft SQL Server).
• Programming experience (C#, Microsoft SQL and VB.Net).
• Reporting and business intelligence platform: Power BI, IBM Cognos, Crystal Reports, Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) are an asset, or equivalent.
• Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing, supply chain flows and quality.
• Critical thinking, strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic and positive mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Infor LN 10.7, manufacturing execution system and quality management system.
• Experience with process mapping and workflow design tools.
• Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence or other project management and documentation tools.
• Proven experience as a tester in a software development environment.
• Good understanding and ability to apply various processes and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Soap/Rest APIs/web services.

Successful candidates must obtain and hold a reliability status security clearance and successfully pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
