As an Intermediate Environmental Scientist/Engineer/Technologist you will join our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team in the Medicine Hat, AB region.

The successful applicant will be 40% office/60% field-based and involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:

  1. Active participation in maintaining Montrose strong safety culture
  2. Lead simple to complex contaminated site field investigation projects
  3. Act as a leader in the workplace using Montrose Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures
  4. Manage simple to moderately complex project scopes, schedules and budgets
  5. Coordinate with internal project teams across disciplines to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to meet our clients’ unique project needs
  6. Communicate with clients and project related stakeholders on technical and project management scopes
  7. Prepare technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates and reports
  8. Function effectively within and contribute to the success of a collaborative team
  9. Proactively engage and participate in development opportunities to support your career growth
  10. Mentor and develop junior staff members

What We Are Looking For

  1. A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology or engineering
  2. A minimum of five (5) years’ previous consulting experience in site assessment, reclamation, remediation, and monitoring projects including:
  • Experience using field equipment including Global Positioning Systems, water and soil field screening equipment and an aptitude for learning new digital data collection applications
  • Experience using various drilling rigs for intrusive sample collection
  • Experience managing projects and client relationships, and proficiency at writing technical reports
  • Eligibility for registration in or maintaining a good standing in a professional organization
  • Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to provide direction and mentorship to more junior professionals
  • Knowledge of the Alberta and Saskatchewan regulatory framework would be considered an asset
  • Experience with Workday software would be an asset
  • Experience working with various hand tools and mechanical equipment would be considered an asset
  • A valid and clean driver’s license with no restrictions.

This is a permanent position with an hourly rate range of $31.73 - $52.88, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
