Job description

Reporting to the SAP Basis Support Team Lead, the SAP Basis is responsible for the technical support and evolution of the application or platforms used throughout BRP and under their purview.

The position requires technical SAP expertise, excellent communication skills and business acumen. The successful candidate will work closely with the SAP solution lead, Managed Services partners, clients, architects, development, functional teams and managers.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

• Follow governance and guidelines for key SAP Basis activities performed by you and/or the AMS providers such as:

  • Performance management monitoring and system tuning, identifying and resolving technical issues and ensuring system stability.

  • SAP HANA database dimensioning and performance adjustments.

  • Managing the flow of changes between different SAP systems (e.g. development, testing, production).

  • Providing support for multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP ecosystem.

  • Participating in planning, testing, and implementing software updates and upgrades for SAP system.

  • Responsibility for SAP security patches and hot fix deployment.

  • Responsibility for OSS notes deployment.

  • Responsibility for Periodic Kernel, HANA and other component upgrades.

  • Managing the SAP printing subsystem for all SAP instances.

  • Configurating and tuning monitoring tools.

  • SOX & Security audits.

• Configure, optimize and maintain the Solution Manager managed system, scenarios (CCLM, DVM).

• Provide recommendations and guidelines to the managed services partner for SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required.

• Maintain clear and concise documentation for system configurations, processes, and the troubleshooting step.

• Accompanied by the Architecture group, participate in the definition of the technical landscape, development, integrations with other solution or services, future architecture and roadmaps, etc.

• Collaborate and interface with various stakeholders, including the Program Office, Architecture, Development, and Testing.

• Develop in-house Basis skill via creation of documentation, training and knowledge transfer.

• Participate in various IT/SAP-related projects and provide technical guidance and best practices.

• Support system and licence audits.
  

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related discipline.

• At least 8–10 years of IS&T application support experience with expertise in one or more of the following technical areas: SAP Basis operations, SAP Transport Management, Solution Manager, SAP Cloud ALM, etc.

• A solid understanding of SAP system architecture, components, and configuration.

• Functional and technical experience with the SAP Solution Manager (management and configuration of: ITSM, CHARM, CSOL, CCTS, CCLM, DVM, PPM and other work centres).

• Knowledge of or experience with Test suite, CCLM, DVM, Job management and other relevant modules that support SAP implementation at BRP would be an asset.

• SAP Landscape design, sizing and performance tuning.

• SAP system installation, upgrades and client copies.

• SAP ABAP and JAVA stacks.

• SAP ECC, SAP S4Hana, GTS, SCM and Interfaces.

• Experience with SAP cloud applications such as: LBN, IBP, IAS, CI-DS, BTP, ALM, etc.

• Virtualization technologies.

• Integration Engines such as: SAP Data Services, Dell Boomi, Talend.

• A proven ability to work and collaborate in a complex environment and effectively influence diverse teams of stakeholders and business leaders.

• SAP cloud migration experience would be an asset.

• SAP Fiori System Administration Certification would be an asset (ex: C_FIOAD_2021).

• SAP HANA 2.0 SPS06 Certification would be an asset (Ex: C_HANATEC_18).

• SAP S/4HANA System Administration Certification would be an asset (EX:C_TADM_23).

• SAP Enterprise Architect Certification would be an asset (Ex: P_SAPEA_2023).

• Autonomous, deep-dive troubleshooting skills that cover both SAP and Non-SAP systems.
