Your Opportunity

Our Transportation group offers planning, design, and engineering services for bridge, rail, roadway, and transit projects. Our Calgary office seeks an Intermediate Roadway Engineer to provide technical design services across various projects. We seek a motivated individual who can work well in a team, independently when needed, and contribute to local, regional, national, and international projects.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Perform geometric design and 3D modeling for urban and rural roadway projects
  • Lead development of design plans and assist with technical specifications and quantity estimates
  • Prepare engineering reports and technical studies
  • Coordinate with disciplines like structural, geotechnical, stormwater, streetlighting, landscaping for integrated design
  • Guide designers and CAD leads
  • Ensure standards, quality assurance, and quality control are followed
  • Meet project timelines and budgets
  • Assist leadership with project pursuits and proposals
Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  • Self-motivated team player with independent work capability
  • Knowledge of design standards (City of Calgary, Edmonton, TAC, Alberta Transportation, AASHTO, etc.)
  • Strong civil engineering design software skills (Autodesk, Bentley); Civil3D experience required; Infraworks and OpenRoads are assets
  • Traffic modeling software knowledge (Synchro, VISSIM) is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience
  • PE registration in Alberta or ability to obtain within 6 months

This role is primarily office-based but may include field work.
