Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingualism is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of Intermediate Bodily Injury Claims.
  • Engage stakeholders including underwriting and senior leadership in claim handling.
  • Confirm policy coverages, investigate liability and quantum; maintain detailed records.
  • Attend mediations, pre-trials and settlement initiatives.
  • Settle claims directly with Plaintiff’s Counsel and direct Defence Counsel.

What To Expect
  • Reporting to the Team Leader, Casualty, you are accountable for managing a portfolio of Intermediate Bodily Injury Claims.
  • Engage all stakeholders in the effective management of a claim including underwriting and senior leadership
  • Confirming policy coverages, investigating claims to determine liability and quantum. Maintaining detailed file records.
  • Attending/participating in mediations, pre-trials and settlement initiatives.
  • Settle claims directly with Plaintiff’s Counsel.
  • Direct and Instruct Defence Counsel.
  • Professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions, whether with customer, co-workers or vendors
  • Perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure
  • Strive to continually push the boundaries of your adjusting experience and personal learnings
  • Team player adaptable to changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
What You Bring
  • University degree, a college diploma or the CIP designation
  • Minimum 3 years of claims handling experience, auto adjusting experience preferred.
  • Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with customers or co-workers
  • Perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure
  • Team player adaptable to a changing environment
  • You’re dependable with strong interpersonal skills
  • You have strong communication skills
  • You’re focused on building engagement and culture
  • Proficient in MS Office and strong computer skills
  • Bilingualism in both English and French or other languages is an asset
  • Licensed in multiple provinces is an asset

Salary Range: $51,300 - $94,400
