Base pay range

CA$80,000.00/yr - CA$135,000.00/yr

About The Role

Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Intermediate Regulatory Specialist is responsible for supporting and leading the delivery of activities related to environmental assessments, licensing applications, and permit applications for Ensero projects and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports all activities related to environmental assessments, licensing, and permit applications for Ensero projects and clients with support from Senior technical SMEs.
  • Conducts summary reporting and technical reporting for internal and external (e.g., regulatory applications) requirements, and generally leads development of environmental assessment and regulatory applications.
  • Analyzes and interprets environmental data.
  • Works collaboratively with the Geoscience, Water Management, Engineering, and Reclamation and Closure teams and proactively identifies opportunities to improve project environmental management and streamline regulatory processes.
  • Provides training and technical support for the development of junior staff.
  • Provides corporate technical support to Ensero projects regarding environmental management, regulatory compliance, governance, and permitting.
  • Interacts and liaises with assessors, regulators, and clients.
  • Interfaces and communicates with various levels of government, stakeholders, and communities to advance regulatory activities.
  • Keeps abreast of existing and pending legislation and regulation changes that may impact Ensero projects or our clients’ projects. Coordinates and disseminates regulatory information within the company.
  • Supports the writing and development of client proposals and explores business development opportunities in mining and other sectors.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
About You
  • University degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of environmental assessment and/or permitting experience.
  • Experience working in environmental consulting or project consulting settings.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Yukon’s, BC’s, and other jurisdictions’ impact assessment and licensing regimes for resource development projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
