Job summary

Bruce County invites applications for a Planner/Intermediate Planner to support land use planning across 12 towns. Reporting to the Development Planning Manager, you’ll advise on Planning Act processes, develop local policy, and respond to public inquiries.

Ideal candidates hold a university degree in Planning, at least two years’ experience, and strong skills in GIS and Microsoft Office. We offer a competitive salary, OMERS pension, EFAP, vacation, and progressive leave benefits.

Qualifications

• University degree in Planning or equivalent with eligibility for Ontario Planning Institute
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in land use planning
• Knowledge of rural, recreational and community planning principles and related legislation

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on land use planning and Planning Act matters to the County and municipalities
• Advance more complex development applications and mentor planning staff
• Respond to public inquiries regarding land development and land use policies
