Job Description

We are seeking an Intermediate Municipal/Transportation Engineer to join our Niagara and Toronto offices. The role involves working on diverse projects related to roadway and highway infrastructure design, including grading, drainage, roadside safety, geometric design, flood protection, stormwater management, watermain and sewer systems, intersection design, and utility coordination.

This position offers opportunities for career growth within RVA.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide engineering and technical expertise on multi-disciplinary projects.
  2. Assist in project management tasks such as budget tracking and client communication.
  3. Participate in studies, assessments, modeling, and both preliminary and detailed design phases.
  4. Contribute to reports, drawings, and engineering documents.
  5. Design municipal road reconstructions, water/sewer systems, site grading, and stormwater management systems.
  6. Assist in preparing proposals and reports.
  7. Communicate with clients, consultants, and contractors under supervision.
  8. Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and budgets.
  9. Prepare tender and contract documents, including specifications, quantities, and estimates.
  10. Mentor junior engineers and technologists as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 5-7 years of municipal design engineering experience, consulting experience preferred.
  • P.Eng. or eligible for registration in Ontario.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling is an asset.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with staff and clients.
  • Experience managing project timelines and budgets.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Effective team collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in municipal engineering projects and client interactions.
