The Opportunity: As an Intermediate Mine Waste Engineer, you would contribute to the planning, design, and stewardship of mine waste facilities—from tailings and waste rock to water systems and landform design. You would work alongside experienced professionals from across disciplines to tackle pressing geotechnical and environmental challenges with confidence, precision, and care.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • 5–7 years of experience in mine waste or geotechnical environments
  • P. Eng. designation or eligibility for licensure
  • A willingness to travel for business purposes including potential need for extending time on sites in Canada and overseas
  • Experience with tailings dam design concepts, best practice and guidelines
  • Clear, informed technical communication skills
  • Adaptability, curiosity, and a commitment to collaborative delivery
  • Preferred attributes include:
    • A Master’s degree in a related field
    • Familiarity with permitting and environmental regulations
    • Experience in project execution and leadership
