Your Opportunity

Work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for public and private sector clients. This role suits a motivated, energetic individual eager to challenge their abilities in a dynamic environment.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
  2. Assist in designing building-related mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection, adhering to applicable codes and standards.
  3. Review equipment selections, perform preliminary calculations, and develop initial designs.
  4. Create mechanical design drawings in REVIT and AutoCAD.
  5. Follow production guidelines and project standards.
  6. Collaborate with the Lead Designer and Mechanical Team to optimize project tools and resolve issues.
  7. Ensure quality, consistency, and integrity in electronic deliverables.
  8. Assist with construction administration tasks such as site instruction documentation or change requests.
  9. Incorporate site, contractor, 3D scan, and existing drawing data to produce as-built drawings.
  10. Perform quality control on construction documents.
  11. Contribute as a team member within a multidisciplinary team.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members and adhere to Stantec standards to meet project deadlines.
  13. Follow Stantec's quality control and HSS&E policies.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Ability to collaborate on large, complex projects and independently on smaller ones.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Problem-solving skills with sound professional judgment and creativity.
  • Fundamental knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with building codes, energy standards, and construction documentation.
  • Experience translating system concepts into technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of LEED, ASHRAE, ASPE, NFPA standards is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of quality control and safety guidelines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a team setting.
  • Location preference for Canada, with options for remote work near a Stantec office.
Education and Experience
  • Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Eligibility for CTTAM or EGM accreditation required.
  • Ability to work in Canada preferred.
